Box Score Canandaigua, NY - The Onondaga Community College women's basketball team defeated Finger Lakes Community College 97-41 in Canadaigua on Saturday afternoon to give Head Coach
Mike Wheeler his 300th career victory.
In his 12th year at the helm of the Onondaga women's program, Coach Wheeler has won 80% (300-74) of his team's games during this span including a current streak of 71 consecutive Mid State Athletic Conference games over the past 5 years. Â His teams have gone to three of the last five NJCAA national Final Four's while his current team is undefeated (and #1) in NJCAA Region 3 Â and #2-ranked nationally.
On Saturday, the Lady Lazers placed four players in double figure scoring led by
Allie Taylor (Hannibal) with 23 and
Alisia Griffin (Geneva) who had a career high 18. Â
Lauren Roy had 11 points (including 3 3-pointers) while
Jenn Deuel (Whitesboro) finished with 10 points and 7 assists.
Onondaga - who went through the regular conference season with a perfect 12-0 record - will host host the conference tournament beginning on Friday, February 21 at 5pm at the SRC Arena and Events Center on the OCC campus.
