The Onondaga Community College men's basketball team scored a season-high 94 points on Tuesday, but couldn't hold onto a late lead as the Lazers fell to Davis College, 103-94, in Johnson City.
Â
With the loss, Onondaga evens its season record at 5-5 while Davis College, who is ranked sixth in the USCAA's national poll, improved to 7-3 overall.
Â
After building a 15-point lead in the second half, Onondaga watched its advantage slip away thanks in large part to 11 3-point field goals by the Falcons.Â
Â
With the game tied at 94-94 in the final minute, Davis would take the lead for good after burying one from distance and would sink six from the charity stripe to seal the win.
Â
Four players tallied double figures in scoring for Onondaga led by
Michael Scott's career-high 26 points. The sophomore also produced 15 rebounds.Â
Lloyd Parkmond added 21 points in the loss while
Kameron DiSanto and
Steven Dolgos chipped in with 13 and 10 points, respectively.Â
Trayshaun Hymes and
Colyn Hanley each had five assists for Onondaga.
Â
Onondaga will return to Allyn Hall for its next bout at 1 p.m. on Saturday against North Country Community College. Prior to the game, the Athletics Department will be holding its first-annual Holiday Food Drive with all donations benefiting the Onondaga Food Pantry. Fans donating a canned good or non-perishable item wil receive free admission to the game.
