The Onondaga Community College men's soccer team stepped outside its respective division on Wednesday as the Lazers fell 2-0 to Division I and nationally-ranked Monroe Community College in Rochester.
 
With the loss, the Lazers move to 10-6 overall while the No. 15 Tribunes improve to 11-4-1 on the season.
 
Onondaga would hold one of the nation's top-ranked offenses scoreless for much of the first half until the Tribunes were able to score the go-ahead goal in the 43rd minute.
 
Monroe would record another goal late in the final half en route to a 2-0 win.
 
Jeff Valencia started in net for the Lazers are was saddled with the loss after making three saves.
 
Nate Waite led Onondaga with three shots while 
Joey Amato took two shots in all. 
 
The Lazers will wrap up the road portion of their schedule at 3 p.m. on Saturday when they square-off with Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.
