Onondaga Community College and its athletic department are pleased to announce that its official mascot and biggest fan, Blaze, was recently named September's Mascot of the Month by Street Characters.

Blaze was first introduced to the public on August 22nd at the Lazer Launch Pep Rally and has since become a fan favorite, appearing at numerous athletic events.

The concept was a collaborative creation by Onondaga Community College and Street Characters in an effort to further develop the Lazers' brand and identity within the surrounding community and beyond.

One of the largest producers of mascots in the world, Street Character s has created hundreds of mascots for professional and collegiate athletic institutions as well as Fortune 500 companies.  Street Characters has created some recognizable figures including the mascot for the Calgary Flames (NHL), Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Twins.
