Vicki Guy was announced Director of Sports Medicine and Student-Athlete Support in May of 2023 after serving as the Head Athletic Trainer since December of 2016. Vicki is responsible for the management and operation of our Sports Medicine program and our Head Athletic Trainer providing her expert care for our student-athletes. In addition to her work in the sports medicine area, she is the department liaison to the various academic schools at OCC and works with their academic support staff and advisors to ensure our student-athletes feel supported. She also helps with key onboarding activities including Student-Athlete orientations and manage the Student-Athlete Leadership Council.
Prior to Onondaga, she was the Athletic Trainer for Auburn Enlarged City School District since 2004. Additionally, she spent the past seven years as an Athletic Trainer/Physician Extender at Victory Sports Medicine & Orthopedics in Skaneateles, NY. She is responsible for all phases of athletic training for the 17 NJCAA intercollegiate athletic programs offered at Onondaga.
During her time with Auburn, Vicki functioned as the head athletic trainer for the schools 7-12
th grade football, lacrosse, ice hockey, wrestling, basketball, soccer and field hockey teams, specializing in concussion detection and management.
A Medina native, Vicki Guy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science with a concentration in Athletic Training from SUNY Brockport in 2000, where she also served as a Certified Athletic Trainer after graduation and was responsible for providing injury evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for athletes on 22 intercollegiate teams.
Vicki is a BOC Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), a trained ImPACT Concussion provider and Sportsmetrics certified. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and New York State Athletic Trainers’ Association.
