Borsz came to Onondaga from Wells College where he served as the Director of Athletics for the NCAA Division III institution for three seasons. A strong student advocate, Borsz led a department that saw significant growth, both academically and athletically. Under his guidance and direction, the department set a school record for the number of student-athletes tabbed as North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Scholar-Athletes. Wells also saw the highest incoming amount of freshmen in department history during Borsz’s first full year with Wells. In his final season at Wells College the department finished with the highest ranking in NEAC President’s Cup Standings – a measurement to determine the overall winning percentage of NEAC sponsored sports across the conference. Additionally, Borsz spearheaded numerous improvements to athletic facilities through an aggressive fundraising campaign that led to newly-installed scoreboards at all venues, new locker room spaces for home and visiting teams and improvements to the college’s fitness center. Borsz served as the NEAC Treasurer as well as the Wells College Staff Forum Chair where he helped to organize several community service projects amongst campus staff.
Prior to joining Wells College, Borsz worked in several roles at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Most recently, he had served three years as the Assistant Athletic Director and Recruiting Coordinator where he was responsible for coordinating the recruiting efforts for all 21 NCAA Division III varsity programs. He also acted as the athletics liaison for several departments on campus, including admissions, financial aid, provost, business, campus housing, orientation, first year experience and study abroad. Alongside these responsibilities, Borsz also managed all facilities for varsity, club and intramural sports and provided game management for several sports and events. Borsz was also directly responsible for all aspects of the department’s annual alumni golf tournament fundraiser.
Borsz joined Catholic in July 2006, serving as both an Admissions Counselor and an Assistant Lacrosse Coach before his promotion to Assistant Athletic Director in 2008. Maintaining his position with the Cardinals men’s lacrosse program, Borsz coached both the defensive corps and goaltenders.
