Angela Spetts rejoined Onondaga Community College as the Athletic Trainer in November 2024 after a previously being employed during the 2021-22 school year as the Assistant Athletic Trainer and COVID-19 Test Site Supervisor. She is the primary provider of injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for all 17 NJCAA intercollegiate athletic programs.
Prior to returning to OCC, she worked as a Public Health Sanitarian at the Oneida County Health Department as well as part time as an Injury Prevention Specialist/Athletic Trainer for Work Right NW from 2022-24. She also worked as an Athletic Trainer for Genesee Orthopedics and Plastic Surgery from 2007-21 where she supported the physician and physician assistants by providing patient education and cast and brace application. Through the orthopedic office, she was contracted to provide athletic training services at Whitesboro Central Schools for approximately 300 student athletes, grades 9-12.
Angela earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from Utica University in 2003 where she was also a member of the Field Hockey and Women's Lacrosse teams. She later earned a Master of Science in Exercise Science/Athletic Training from the University at Buffalo in 2007 where she worked with Baseball, Football, Softball, and Women's Soccer. She recently completed a Master of Public Health from the University of Vermont in 2024.
Angela is nationally certified as an Athletic Trainer by the BOC and licensed in the State of New York. She resides in Utica with her partner, Joe, and their three cats Milo, Burrito, Lily, and dog Riley.
