Tom MacDonald

Tom MacDonald is a lifelong resident of Syracuse, NY.  He attended Henninger High School and graduated in 1973. After high school he graduated from Hobart College in 1977 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and then received a Master's degree in Education from Syracuse University in 1978. While attending Hobart College, MacDonald helped guide the Statesmen to back-to-back National Titles in 1976 and 1977.

MacDonald returned to Henninger High School in 1978 and worked as a Social Studies teacher and coach. He was instrumental in starting and coaching the Henninger/Nottingham women’s lacrosse program in 1996 before retiring from the Syracuse City School District in 2011.

MacDonald was hired as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Onondaga Community College in the fall 2011.  During his first season he guided the Lazers to their second NJCAA National Championship.  MacDonald owns a 77-20 career record at Onondaga and has reached the NJCAA National Title game four times.

MacDonald’s wife, Terry, is a professor in the Child and Family Studies and Sports Management programs at Syracuse University.  They have two children, Erin and Michael, and one grandson, Dylan.
