Onondaga Community College

At Onondaga:  Tyler has been selected as the Lazers’ captain for 2013-2014.  He played in all 29 games last season, starting 26 times.  He was an Honorable Mention Mid-State Athletic Conference All-conference selection, and was named to the Onondaga Community College Classic All-Tournament Team.  He topped the 20-point mark 4 times and reached double figures 16 times, hitting his career best 22 points in back to back wins over at Corning and home against Broome.  He shot 52.4% from the floor on the season, best on the Lazers and good for 47th among all players nationally.  Tyler was also Onondaga’s top rebounder, pulling down an average of 8.9 rebounds per contest and ranking 31st nationally in that category.  His season best was 20 rebounds in a win at North Country, and he grabbed 18 boards in a win over Jamestown-Cattaraugus.

Background:  Tyler played for Coach Matt Jacob at Liverpool, where he was a teammate of Lazer alumni Jesse Gates, Ian Hamm, and Adam Misener.  He emerged as a team leader during his senior season, his second on the varsity.  He was one of the Warriors’ co-captains and averaged a team best 13 points and 7 rebounds per game on the year.  Tyler was a two-sport standout for the Warriors, as he also garnered 2nd team All-CNYCL honors as an outfielder on the Liverpool baseball team.
