Chuck Wilbur

Chuck Wilbur joined Onondaga's athletic department in the season of 2001-02. He led the Lazers to their first National Championship in 2006, defeating Suffolk County Community College, 30-6 before proceeding to win 10 more national titles, 11 in total, all within 13 seasons. He recorded a total 266 wins and 15 losses with Onondaga.

In Wilbur's 17 seasons at OCC he has won 17 consecutive Mid-State Athletic Conference Championships, 14 consecutive Region III Championships and guided the Lazers to the longest win streak in college lacrosse history at 107 games (March 30, 2010 to March 5, 2016). Wilbur was named the NJCAA Lacrosse Coaches Association National Coach of the Year in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2017 and 2018. In June of 2017, after Wilbur earned his 10th national title, the Board of Trustees voted to rename the David W. Murphy Field at Lazer Stadium to the Charles R. Wilbur Field.

Wilbur was given an NJCAA Legacy Award in 2025 for his coaching accomplishments at Onondaga.

Chuck Wilbur is a 1995 graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School, where he is a member of the school's Hall of Fame. Wilbur went on to Herkimer County Community College, where he was a two time All-American lacrosse player in 1996 and 1997. He was named the NJCAA National Player of the Year in 1997 and continued on to play Hobart College in 1998 and 1999. He graduated from Hobart in 1999, and was the Team's Most Valuable Player and leading scorer that year.
Chuck is still employed at Onondaga Community College serving in the School of Art, Communication, Business, and Entrepreneurship.
 
Wilbur resides in Cicero with his wife, Laura, and their three children, Nicholas, Elena and Charles.
