Robin Wheeless

Robin Wheeless was hired to revive Onondaga’s cross country programs in the fall of 2010 and was appointed Head Coach of the College’s newly added outdoor track and field program in the spring of 2015.

While at Onondaga, Wheeless captured the Lazers first NJCAA Region III Championships in both Men's Cross Country (2016) and Men's Track & Field (2017). In addition, he crowed three NJCAA Division III Track and Field Individual National Champions: Devlin Williams (2016-Long Jump), Andrew Hines (2017-Long Jump), and Jeff Menyah (2017-110m Hurdles).

Prior to joining the Lazers, Wheeless was an assistant coach with Division II Le Moyne College where he helped guide the Dolphins to some of their most successful seasons.

A USATF Level Two certified coach, Wheeless attended Onondaga Community College and would go on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Syracuse University.  He is also USTFCCCA certified as an Edurance Specialist and Jumping Event Specialist.

In his free time, he is an avid runner, having recently finished the Boston Marathon.
