Syracuse, NY - Region 3 has recognized 2025-26 Competitive Cheer members for the first time. Competitive Cheer in the region consists of Onondaga Community College and SUNY Broome.

Katherine Janack, Leyna Wirickx, and Hailey Panella have been selected to the 2025-26 All-Region team.

The selection was based on the following criteria: 

Achievement — balances their commitment to the team with their schoolwork while continuing to grow their skills in this sport
Leadership — Models teamwork, accountability, communication, and supports teammates in practice, competition and events.
Outstanding Ability — Shows advanced technical skill and execution appropriate to role (motions, jumps, tumbling, stunting, dance, timing, and performance quality).
Excellent Character — Displays sportsmanship, respect, coachability, reliability, and represents school/program values on and off the mat.

Katherine Janack, a First Team honoree, has progressed her flyer skills all season long and showcases them in competition.

Leyna Wirickx, a First Team honoree, is an exceptional base with strength and persistence in learning a new skill. She shows resiliency always getting back up no matter what knocks her down. 

Hailey Panella, a Second Team honoree, is a versatile cheerleader; she competed in different positions this season for use, depending on the needs of the team and is dominant in wherever she is.
