Bel Air, MD - Onondaga was titled 2024 Women's Lacrosse Invitational Champions over Monroe Community College with a 19-4 final score in the very familiar championship matchup.This is the first year of the NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Invitational and the Lazers finished the season undefeated with a 12-0 record.
The Lazers advanced to the final after defeating the host team for the third time this season, Harford Community College, in the semifinal round on Saturday, 22-8.
The Lazers' offense came out firing in the first quarter, taking an early 8-0 lead lead after the 1st quarter. Monroe was able to put 3 on the board in the 2nd quarter but Onondaga kept the energy with 5 more goals to enter half time up 13 to 3.
The Lazers' only allowed 1 Tribune goal while scoring six more times to claim the title with a 19-4 victory, their largest margin of victory in a championship game in program history.
Onondaga Freshman, Olivia Lockwood, was named offensive MVP with 12 goals, 1 assist, and 13 points in two games played. Onondaga Goalie, Madison Manno, was named defensive MVP with 13 saves and 9 goals allowed in two games. Onondaga Head Coach, Erik Mattox, was named the Coach of the Tournament.
