Syracuse, NY - Men's Soccer moves to 6-1-1 after hosting this weekends' contest against the Jefferson Cannoneers. The men remain in the No. 8 spot in the nation entering this week of play.
Jefferson had the first say scoring the first goal of the contest in the 6th minute.
Tyler Wavercak responded on the assist from
Faisal Samim in the 16th off the crossbar bouncing in to tie it up. Unsatisfied, Wavercak wanted another to put the Lazers on top to enter the half.
Halftime began under the pouring rain, but
Matthew Stasyuk was unfazed finding the Lazers another goal on a free kick from
Jack Hopson touching the feet ofÂ
Joe Mohamed and Azariah Ravenau before finding Stasyuk to put Onondaga up 3-1 in the 56th minute.
The Lazers held Jefferson scoreless in the very physical 2nd half to secure the 3-1 win.
The men will host an Cayuga Community College this Wednesday at 6pm on Wilbur Field. 6-1 Cayuga sits just behind Onondaga in the NJCAA rankings in the No. 9 spot.
