Women's Lacrosse traveled to Monroe Community College this Saturday before hosting Harford CC on Sunday for a loaded weekend. Onondaga defeated both teams for a 2-0 weekend bringing them to 6-2 overall.
Rochester, NY - The No. 3 seed Tribunes of Monroe Community College gave Onondaga a run for their money with a 12-12 tie game in regulation after a back and forth battle between the two teams.
Isabella Commesso contributed 3 goals for the Lazers. Commesso now leads the team in goals alongside
Macey DeOrdio with 18 each on the season. After DeOrdio's goal in the first quarter, she remained scoreless up until the critical moment in OT scoring the Lazer's winning goal for the 13-12 victory over the Tribunes.
Syracuse, NY - Onondaga carried the momentum of Saturday's high into Sunday's contest against the Harford Fighting Owls. The two teams met early on in the season where Onondaga took a 12-10 victory for their first win. DeOrdio put up a quick 2 goals on the Owls along with a goal each from
Gabriella Smart,
Victoria Storrs, and Gianna Zerillo for 5-0 lead. The Lazer defense fell flat giving 5 goals right back for a 5-5 tie at the end of the first quarter. Onondaga's offense kicked back up putting up another 5 goals in the second quarter but wouldn't give it back this time. The Lazers held the lead for the remainder of the game scoring 6 in the third and 2 in the fourth for an 18-11 victory.
Onondaga reamins the No. 2 overall seed beneath the No. 1 Anne Arundel Riverhawks (7-0).
The Lazers will travel to Saranac Lake this Saturday, April 29th for a 1pm start against the North Country Saints.
