Onondaga Women's Tennis defeated Hudson Valley Community College, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon at Santaro Park.
The Lazers won in impressive form under the leadership of
Jessica Hodell and
Alyssa Wall, both double-winners on the day. In first doubles the duo defeated their opponents 8-2 and continued their strong play in two close singles matches.
Jessica Hodell (first singles) held off her opponent's late effort to close out the match 10-7.
Alyssa Wall (second singles) fought hard to come back from a 3-8 deficit and defeated her opponent 10-8.
At second doubles, Breanna Braga and
Juliane Copes-Banks won 8-5. Breanna Braga continued in third singles but lost a hard battle as her Hudson Valley opponent came from behind to win 10-6.
In fourth singles,
Lora Gould controlled the match from the beginning and earnestly defeated her opponent 10-1.
The Lazers travel to Utica on September
21st to take on Mohawk Valley Community College at 4pm.
