Chautauqua, N.Y – Sam Tornatore (Utica, N.Y./Whitesboro) currently stands in 20th place after carding an opening round score of 78. Tornatore shot 39's on both the front and back nine to open up play at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Men's Golf National Championships this week at the Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, New York. Par for the course is a 72.

Shamus Hickey (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) shot an opening round 82 which places him tied for 45th. Hickey recorded 41's on both the front and back nine.

Tornatore will tee off at round two on Wednesday at 9:24 a.m.

Round three and four tee times will be finalized after play is completed on Wednesday.
