Top-Ranked Monroe Doubles Up Third-Ranked Women’s Lacrosse, 14-7

Rochester, N.Y.– Nicole Beatson of the top-ranked Monroe Community College women's lacrosse team registered four points to help double up the third-ranked Onondaga Community College women's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon to stay perfect on the season. The Tribunes netted seven unanswered goals to run away with the victory.

Onondaga started the game off strong with two goals in the first 10 minutes of play. Just 2:09 in the game, Brigid Regin found the back of the net with a pass from Madison Pritchard. Pritchard then netted an unassisted goal at the 20:50 mark putting the Lazers on top 2-0.

Monroe would score the next two goals of the contest to knot the game at 2-2. Taylor Excell scored at the 20:22 mark and Elle MacMillan would follow with a goal with 15:52 left to play in the first half.

The Lazers would regain the lead after an unassisted goal by Kristyn Drake at 11:54 but would fall behind 4-3 after back-to-back goals by Tribune Christie Hahn coming at 11:21 and 10:25. Drake would tie the game back up at four apiece after her unassisted goal with 9:53 on the clock.

Over the final eight minutes of the first half, the Tribunes would tally five unanswered goals to take a 9-4 lead into the half. Monroe goals came from MacMillan (2), Gianna Branca, Nicole Beatson and Dana Isaacs.

Monroe would open the scoring back up in the second half with back-to-back goals from Isaacs and Zoe Hendricks to give the Tribunes an 11-4 advantage. Pritchard would tally a goal for the Lazers off an assist from Jordan Osborne at 10:18.

Isaacs, Beatson and Devon McKercher would record the next three goals of the game making it 14-5 in favor of the Tribunes.

Onondaga would finish up the game's scoring with two goals over the final two minutes from Regin and Osborne to make the fianl 14-7.

Pritchard, Drake and Regin each recorded two goals, while Osborne tallied a goal to complete the Lazers scoring.

Mia Pascuzzi recorded five saves for the Lazers in goal.

With the loss, the Lazers fall to 4-2 on the season.

Onondaga returns to action on Wednesday as they play host to Mohawk Valley Community College at 6 p.m.
