Onondaga Women's Tennis closed out the regular season by defeating Herkimer Country Community College, 8-1 and 8-1, in a double-header on Saturday afternoon at Santaro Park.
In game one,
Jessica Hodell,
Alyssa Wall, and
Lora Gould were all double-winners. In first doubles
Alyssa Wall and
Lora Gould defeated their opponent 8-1, with Gould serving an ace point to win the match.
Jessica Hodell and
Brianna Braga won second doubles 8-3.
The Lazers continued to defeat the Generals in first, second, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles by
Jessica Hodell (8-4),
Alyssa Wall (8-4),
Lora Gould (8-5),
Ghofran Abdulmueen (8-1), and
Juliane Copes-Banks (8-2)
The Lazers remained dominant in the second game as
Jessica Hodell,
Alyssa Wall, and
Lora Gould again became double-winners.
Jessica Hodell and
Lora Gould (first doubles) started strong with a 4-1 lead and ended up defeating their opponent 8-4.
Brianna Braga and
Alyssa Wall (second doubles) held off a late comeback attempt by the Generals to win 8-5.
Onondaga's endurance was tested as the two teams began to tire from the long day, and the Lazers responded with strong performances in singles to close out the evening:

Alyssa Wall (8-2), and
Lora Gould (8-3).
Onondaga looks forward to competing in the NJCAA Region III Finals next weekend at Drumlins/Skytop Tennis Complex at Syracuse University.
