The Onondaga Community College men's tennis team won eight of nine flights to defeat SUNY Broome on Tuesday in Binghamton. With the win, Onondaga concludes its regular season at .500 at 9-9 while the Hornets fall to 4-5.
The Lazers will return to action at 9 a.m. on Saturday when they begin their quest for a Region III title at the 2015 NJCAA Region III Men's Tennis Championship in Queensbury.
The Lazers would win all but one point in singles play with
Matthew McCall,
Darren Pikul,
Carlos Pena-Alicea,
Benjamin Jones and
Marc Rich winning their respective flight.
Onondaga would go to sweep doubles play as McCall and
Jon VanKouwenberg partnered for an 8-4 win at first doubles while Rich and Pena-Alicea took second doubles, 8-5.
Jeffrey Stone paired with Pikul for an 8-2 win at third doubles.
