The Lazer women's tennis team swept a pair of matches against Herkimer College on Saturday, earning their first wins of the season, and the first wins for first year Onondaga head coach
Matt Stevenson. It was also sophomore day and the last home match for Lazer 1st singles and 1st doubles player
Kaitlin Ferrara.
The Lazers took the first match, 5-1, on Saturday, with Ferrara,
Lindsey Cornacchia,
Taylor Maxwell, and
Aconda Williams winning 1st through 4th singles, and Maxwell and Williams combining to pick up the win at 2nd doubles. In the second match, the Lazers captured a 4-3 victory, with Ferrara and Maxwell gaining victories at 1st and 2nd singles, Ferrara and Cornacchia winning 1st doubles, and Herkimer forfeiting 5th singles.
The Lazers close the regular season on Monday, when they travel to Hudson Valley Community College for a 4:00 pm match.
