Kyle Naugle of the Onondaga Community College baseball team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Lazers to a 6-2 record the week of April 11th – April 17th.
Naugle appeared in six games on the week going 2-0 with three saves while issuing zero runs in seven and one-third innings to help lead the Lazers to a 6-2 week.
In game one on Tuesday (4/12) against Genesee Community College, Naugle picked up the win pitching one and one-third of an inning only giving up one hit. In the nightcap, he would pick up his fourth save of the year in a 7-4 Onondaga victory.
In game one on Thursday (4/14) at Genesee Community College, Naugle would come out of the bullpen to shut the door on Genesee again to pick up his fifth save of the season in the Lazers 7-4 win.
In game one on Saturday (4/16) against Finger Lakes Community College, Naugle would pitch three innings of relief out of the bullpen to pick up his third win on the year. He struck out four batters in the 6-5 win. In the nightcap, he would register his sixth save going two-thirds of an innings in the Lazers 5-4 win.Â
On the season, the closer is 3-0 with a Region III best six saves with an impressive 1.17 ERA in 13 appearances.
