Sarah Bregg (Phoenix/J.C. Bridlebough) of the Onondaga Community College softball team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 22, 2015 after playing a pivotal role in the Lazers’ four wins at the Snowbird Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Bregg didn’t show any signs of offseason rust at the plate after batting 14-for-30 (.467) with two homeruns, two triples and a pair of doubles that produced 12 RBI as the Lazers went 4-4 overall against some of the nation’s top-ranked teams.

Bregg went 3-for-4 from the dish against both the College of Southern Maryland and Finger Lakes and produced two or more runs batted in four times in the Lazers’ eight-game schedule.

The sophomore outfielder created problems on the base paths as well after stealing six bags in six attempts.

Bregg currently ranks 21st overall in the nation in batting average while her six steals is tied for sixth-best among all NJCAA players.

Onondaga will return to action on Thursday against Genesee Community College on the road before opening the home portion of the 2015 season at 3 p.m. on Sunday with a doubleheader against Fulton-Montgomery Community College at the Softball Complex.
