Brittney Sears (Phoenix/J.C.Bridlebough) of the Onondaga Community College softball team has been named Onondaga’s Female Athlete of the Week for action ending March 29, 2015.
 
Sears contributed at the plate and from the pitcher’s circle in the Lazers’ only doubleheader of the week as Onondaga swept Fulton-Montgomery after outscoring the Raiders 31-0 in only 10 innings of play.
 
Sears was 4-for-7 at the dish for the series with four RBI, four runs scored and a double.  The Phoenix native also picked up her third win of the season after throwing four scoreless innings and scattering two hits while striking out seven.
 
Sears and the rest of the softball team returns to the diamond at 4 p.m. on Wednesday when they host nationally-ranked Herkimer County Community College at the Softball Complex.
