Alisia Griffin (Geneva / Geneva) of the nationally-ranked Onondaga Community College women’s basketball team has been named Onondaga’s Female Athlete of the Week for her efforts during the week that ended Febraury 1, 2015.
 
Griffin notched her fourth double-double of the season in the Lazers’ only contest of the week when she scored 17 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds as the Lazers extended their current winning streak to nine games with a 66-45 win at Corning Community College.  The win also signified Onondaga’s 83 consecutive win against Mid-State Athlete Conference Opponents. 
 
Griffin’s outstanding play extended to the defensive end as well.  The Geneva native accounted for three steals against the Red Barons.
 
Griffin and the rest of the No. 4 Lazers will return to the hardwood at 5 p.m. on Tuesday when they host SUNY Broome in an MSAC battle.
