Onondaga Community College

Sophomore forward Lloyd Parkmond (Rome Free Academy/Rome) of the Onondaga Community College men’s basketball team has been recognized as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for action concluding December 7, 2014.

Parkmond played a pivotal role in the Lazers’ only contest last week, scoring a team-high 24 points as Onondaga nearly pulled off the upset at nationally-ranked Herkimer County Community College, 98-85.

Parkmond has been a consistent threat for Onondaga this season as the Rome native leads Onondaga with five games with 20 or more points.  His 16.7 points per game leads the team and ranks seventh in Region III while his 9.0 rebounds per game ranks fifth among all regional players.

He has recorded four double-doubles this season, recently setting career-highs with 30 points and 15 boards.

Parkmond and the rest of the men’s basketball team will break from action until 5 p.m. on January 6 when they travel to Olean to face Division II Jamestown-Cattaraugus.
