Colyn Hanley (Jordan/Jordan-Elbridge) of the Onondaga Community College men’s basketball team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 16, 2014.

Hanley led Onondaga to a 1-1 record on the week while tallying 21 rebounds and 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting over the course of the Lazers’ two games.

The sophomore center started off the week strong when he contributed 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds in a 92-86 Lazers win over Schenectady County Community College last Wednesday. Hanley was able to grab nine offensive rebounds against the Royals leading directly to 12 Onondaga points.
 
Hanley also had a strong performance against Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Sunday despite the Lazers falling to the Raiders 89-74. The Jordan native scored 12 points while converting on all four of his shots from the field. He also tallied eight rebounds in the loss.
 
On the season, Hanley is averaging a team-best 9.6 rebounds per game which also ranks 21st in the region. He also is averaging four offensive rebounds per game while contributing 8.1 points per game. His 54.4% shooting from the field is good for third best on the team.

Hanley and the rest of the men’s basketball team will return to action at 3 p.m. on Saturday when they go on the road to take on host SUNY Delhi.
