Shamus Hickey of the Onondaga Community College men’s golf team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week. Hickey, a freshman from West Genesee High School, qualified for the Men's Golf National Championships last Tuesday at the Men's Golf Region III Championships hosted by Tompkins County Community College in Dryden, New York.

Hickey led the Lazers with a round one score of 82 and then carded an 83 on the second day for a two round total of 165 – good enough for a 12th place finish and a spot on the All-Region team.

Hickey will be joined by teammate Sam Tornatore for the Men's Golf National Championships hosted by Jamestown Community College at the Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, NY from June 6 – 10.
