Romeo Kpolo (Nottingham/Syracuse) of the Onondaga Community College men’s soccer team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week after helping guide the Onondaga Lazers to a 1-1 week.

Kpolo combined to post three points and nine shots in two games as the Lazers defeated Jefferson Community College, 3-1, before falling in overtime to Finger Lakes Community College, 1-0.

Against the Cannoneers, Kpolo scored the go-ahead goal on a penalty kick in the game’s 46th minute before assisting on another goal late in the second period.

The Syracuse native is tied for the team-lead with seven points on three goals and one assist.

Kpolo and the rest of the Lazers return to the turf at 4:30 p.m. on Monday when they face undefeated SUNY ESF at David W. Murphy Field.
