Holden McDonald (St. Mary’s/Toronto, Ont.) of the national champion Onondaga Community College men’s lacrosse team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for action taking place during the week that ended May 10, 2015.
McDonald helped the Lazers earn their seventh straight NJCAA National Championship and ninth in the last 10 years after picking up two more wins (16-0) in net with 27 combined saves against two of the nation’s top-ranked teams.
McDonald, who was named the Championship’s Most Valuable Defensive Player, notched 14 saves against Genesee Community College in the semifinals before posting 13 saves against CCBC-Essex in the title game.
For the season, the freshman keeper finished first in the nation in goals against average, save percentage, wins and goals allowed en route to being named First-Team All-American by the NJCAA.
