Onondaga Community College

Nate Boughton (Corcoran/Jamesville) of the Onondaga Community College baseball team has been selected as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for action ending March 29, 2015.
 
Boughton made two appearances on the mound for the Lazers and allowed six runs on seven hits over 11 innings of work.  Boughton combined to record 21 strikeouts and picked up his first win of the season after defeating nationally-ranked Northampton.
 
The freshman pitcher scattered two hits in seven innings against Jefferson and struck out a career-high 12 batters before returning to the hill to throw four innings against the No. 10 Spartans where he tallied nine Ks.
 
For the season, Boughton owns a 1.3 WHIP (walks/hits per inning pitched).
 
Boughton and the rest of the Lazers will return to action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday when they host Ithaca College’s JV squad at the Baseball Complex.
