Autumn Gavin (Onondaga Central/Syracuse) of the nationally-ranked Onondaga Community College women’s basketball team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after helping the No. 3 Lazers to their 12th and 13th consecutive wins during the week that ended February 15, 2015.

Gavin combined to average 16.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as the Lazers remained unbeaten in Mid-State Athletic Conference play with wins over Tompkins Cortland and Finger Lakes.

The Syracuse native had a career week after grabbing a career-high eight rebounds in an 85-29 road win at Tompkins Cortland before netting a career-high 28 points on 12-of-18 shooting in a 109-47 win against Finger Lakes as Onondaga celebrated its sophomores.

Gavin is averaging 5.6 points and 3.3 rebounds on the season.

The sophomore guard and the rest of her teammates will look to win their 14th straight game on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. when they make the short trip to Auburn to face the Cayuga Community College Spartans in the regular season finale.
