Jessica Cost (Marcellus/Marcellus) of the Onondaga Community College volleyball team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after several impressive performances for the week ending September 21, 2014.

Cost played an important role as the Lazers went 2-2 last week with victories coming against Jefferson and Corning, respectively.

The sophomore setter combined to post 101 assists to go along with 32 digs, eight service aces and six kills.

Against the Cannoneers, Cost matched her season-high with 31 helpers while also posting 11 digs.

Cost would follow up that performance with a double-double against Finger Lakes at the Cayuga Community College POD after notching 29 assists and 13 digs.

Cost currently ranks as one of the best setters in the nation with 245 assists in only 42 sets so far this season.

Cost and the rest of the volleyball team will return to the court seeking their 12th win of the season at 6 p.m. on Wednesday when they travel to Tompkins-Cortland Community College in an MSAC showdown.
