Rachel Parrillo (Nottingham/West Genesee) of the Onondaga Community College women's tennis team has been named the College's Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 7, 2014.

Parrillo has reeled off four-straight wins in two matches to open the 2014 season to lead the Lazers to a 1-1 record.

Against SUNY Broome, the Syracuse native posted a straight-set win at sixth singles, 6-4, 6-4, before earning Onondaga another point at third doubles after a 9-8, (9-7) decision.

Parrillo continued her strong play against last season's Region III Champion, Hudson Valley, on Saturday after holding her opponent scoreless to earn a point at sixth singles., Parrillo would go on to post another victory at third doubles.

Parrillo and the rest of the women's tennis squad will return to play at 1 p.m. on Sunday when they host Herkimer County Community College at the Onondaga Central School District Tennis Courts.
