Morgan Nichols of the Onondaga Community College softball team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Lazers to a 6-0 record the week of April 11th – April 17th.

Nichols appeared in four games on the week going 3-0 with one save while issuing just three runs in 20 innings pitched to help lead the Lazers to a perfect 6-0 week.

In game one on Saturday (4/16) against Columbia-Greene Community College, Nichols would pitch a complete game giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks, while striking out five in the Lazers 4-2 win. In the nightcap, Nichols would come out of the bullpen for the final two innings surrendering three hits and striking out one to register the win.

In game one on Sunday (4/17) against SUNY-Delhi, Nichols tossed her second complete game on the weekend pitching a three-hitter giving up a run (unearned) while striking out seven Broncos in the Lazers 3-1 win. In the nightcap, Nichols pitched the final four innings allowing just one hit to earn the save.
