Box Score Two undefeated teams entered Allyn Hall on Saturday evening and one left victorious. Onondaga made a statement upending Potomac State, 121-102. The Catamounts arrived in Syracuse with a 5-0 record and currently ranked 20th in the NJCAA Division II polls.
The Lazers dominated their home court earning a 42-17 lead in the first ten minutes of the game and cruised to victory, maintaining at least a twelve point margin throughout the game. The first half was led by
Tae Elijah (23 points, 8 rebounds) and
Tyler Sullivan (25 points, 11 assists), combining for 30 points and going 7 for 9 from behind the three-point arc.
James Walker remained quiet during the first half but lit up the second, scoring 17 of his 22 total points before fouling out late in the game.
Onondaga maintained their lead down the stretch by getting it done at the free thrown line, making 43 of 52 total attempts, their best performance of the season thus far, headed by
Tyler Sullivan going 12 for 13.
Included in the scoring effort was
Brian Daily scoring fifteen points and accumulating four rebounds, his best performance of the season.
Will Cutler also chipped in fourteen points and
Nate Cutler added eleven.
OCC's matchup at Columbia-Green tomorrow is postponed due to inclement weather. Onondaga Basketball will be back in action on December 3rd against North Country Community College at 1pm in Allyn Hall.
