Hill Named NJCAA Region III Male Athlete of the Year

FULL RELEASE

The postseason accolades continued for Warren Hill of the 2014 National Champion Onondaga Community College men's lacrosse team as the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region III named the Oshweken, Ontario native its Male Athlete of the Year on Wednesday after an outstanding 2014 campaign.

Hill played a pivotal role in securing the Lazers' sixth-straight national championship and eighth in the last nine seasons as the sophomore goalie led the nation in both save percentage (.773) and goals against averaged (4.33), while ranking ninth in saves with 160.  Hill posted a perfect 17-0 record between the pipes for Onondaga moving the team's winning streak to 87 consecutive games.

A First-Team All-American selection by the NJCAA earlier this season, Hill was also named First-Team All-Conference by the Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC), while the NJCAA Lacrosse Coaches Association and the MSAC named the Onondaga net-minder Defensive Player of the Year, marking the second time in as many seasons that Hill earned the distinction.

The standout goalie's efforts will continue on the turf next season as Hill has accepted an athletic scholarship to play for the nationally-ranked Syracuse Orange.
